BEAUTIFUL MEMORY VERSE
(Ecclesiastes 3:11)

He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. (KJV)

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end. (NKJV)

WE NEED TO THNK GOD..FOR ALL THINGS
Scientific Exonerations

God's word, God's creation, God's Son and just about anything pertaining to those words have suffered malignment since their initial exposure to man. Pseudo scientists and know-it-alls have ridiculed anything pertaining to God and His greatness over the years. It is pleasing to see archaeology, astrology, physiology, geology, and about any other -ology you wish to speak of, constantly forcing the smart-alecks to run back to the drawing board to try and explain away sound evidence. Many flatly refuse to accept anything, however compelling, as accurate if it even hints at intelligent design.

All have heard of the "Big Bang" hypothesis (or rather, a figment of their imagination) which was first given birth by Alexander Friedmann's calculations of an expanding universe. This Big Bang supposedly occurred some 13.5 billion years ago. The idea stems from a number of complicated equations concerning light spectrums from other galaxies and on and on. But as always when someone, like Friedmann and Darwin, comes up with these thoughts that they feel proves something contrary to the creation story of the Bible, the other pseudos grab it and run with it although they have no knowledge of the authenticity of it.

But this absurd idea is passing away as many others such as Darwin's Origin of Species. Modern technology combined with a vast accumulation of materials and studies, are constantly revealing facts that confirm the Bible's accuracy and inerrancy. Three astronomers, cosmologists Fred Hoyle, Geoffrey Burbidge and Jayant Narlikar wrote a book published a few year ago A Different Approach to Cosmology which explains the true causes of those phenomena used to dream up the "Big Bang". I have not read the book, but I have read some great articles about it. I will link to some extensive but really good reading for you.

I Just Know in My Heart
by: Justin Monts

Though one at first glance might expect this to be an article better suited for last week’s Valentine’s Day, it actually isn’t even close. Here I plan to take up a statement used time and again in our religious world. That statement is simply: “I just know in my heart.”

Many well meaning and sincere people decide to “trust in their heart” with regard to spiritual things and believe that by this they can’t go wrong. To point out from the Bible wherein they err is fruitless because they “know in their heart” they are saved. To press them for authority on infant baptism, praying to Mary, or speaking in tongues is useless because they “know in their heart” these are approved.

Yet contrary to being a reliable source, the Bible reveals “the heart is deceitful above all things” (Jer. 17:9). Ultimately, it alone can't be trusted. Elsewhere it is stated, “there is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death” (Prov. 14:12). And again we are told, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding” (Prov. 3:5). Notice we are not to trust in the heart, but rather we are to trust in the Lord with all our heart. Without question, there is a world of difference.

The only way we can really “know in our heart” about our condition is if we abide in the word of truth. “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God” (Rom. 10:17).

“Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, ‘If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free’” (Jn. 8:31-32). By abiding in the word of God we can know we are acceptable to Him. However, if we rely on emotions and feelings alone we'll inevitably be led astray.

Since this is the case, what will you do? Will you lay aside divine writ and go with your heart? Or will you take up the Bible and place your heart in it? This is a very important question seeing the word of truth will judge in the last day (Jn. 12:48).

CREATION VS. EVOLUTION
by Steven J. Wallace

Too many people have misplaced the creation versus evolution debate as just another side issue like euthanasia, abortion, homosexuality, pornography, etc. It is time that we wake up and see it as it really is—a foundational issue where others spring from.

If the book of Genesis is correct, which I affirm with every fiber of my being that it is, then “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). Every truth and command found in the Bible is contingent upon this being true. If it is true that it was God who was in the beginning (cf. John 1:1ff) and that He was in fact the creator of all things, that is, the heavens and the earth, then it stands to reason that those things which inhabit the heavens and the earth are subject to Him and His laws. If God is creator, then He sets the rules and they are just that, His rules. These things are not left to our subjective opinion but rather to what the Lord says.

It is appalling that many who say they believe in God have compromised their faith with the theory of evolution. If evolution is true, then we are left to our own rationale to discern what is truth and falsehood. And how can we ever commit to such a task if evolution be true? For if we are products of evolution then we are products of time, chance and death over long periods of time. Some how through natural processes, lifeless matter by chance unaturally became intelligent life. If we are products of time, chance and death, then our minds are products of chance as well. If our minds are products of chance, then our logic is through chance; therefore, we can never be certain of anything as our conclusions would be the result of chance! Evolution at best makes us “accidental logicians.” So then, from such a theory abortion, homosexuality, rape, adultery and all like things become a matter of one’s own personal judgment. Even Charles Darwin said, “A man who has no assured and ever present belief in the existence of a personal God or of a future existence with retribution and reward, can have for his rule of life, as far as I can see, only to follow those impulses and instincts which are the strongest or which seem to him the best ones” (The Autobiography of Charles Darwin, 1887, as republished by the Norton Library, p. 94). Can you imagine a society that operates through the strongest impulses of the day? How about "you cut me off on the road. . .I cut you off from the living. . ."? Sometimes strong impulses need to be chained up.

On the other hand, if God as Creator is your foundation, then He sets the rules for sexual behavior. He determines what is proper for marriage and defines the roles of all involved. He defines absolute standards of right and wrong. He sets forth the meaning of life and so on. These things no longer reduced to one’s personal subjective opinion but elevated to the Creator's rules. Do not misunderstand, we do not contend that evolution is the cause for these and similar issues that plague our society today, but rather, evolution gives these immoral acts respectability among the ungodly and uninformed.

An individual, a family, a church and a society need to reflect on the sober words of old. . . “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalm 11:3). When people replace life's creation foundation with time and chance, then they have no or very little foundation for living. What is your foundation in life, creation or evolution?

Bible Words Correctly Pronounced For You

MUSINGS OF JOEL
Thou Fool of Matthew 5:22

Many people have grabbed the subject scripture and ran with it. Mothers have used it to try and discourage their children from speaking harshly to one another, and so on until the word "Fool" has become anathema to some. I am also hesistant to describe someone as such eventhough the scriptures apply it to atheists and Jesus used it on several occasions. But actually, in our current day English, it has a number of definitions yet none of them equal the greek "moros" definition as used in the above scripture.

The greek word had two definitions, very different. One was very similar to our present day primary definition, meaning foolish, deficient in sense, judgement, understanding, etc. That is not the usage of it in Matthew 5:22. By reading the entire verse, we see Jesus warning warning the Jews, to whom he was speaking, of the laws of the Jewish judicial system. The Jews have a basic law of "The dignity and freedom of man" and although this law is pertaining primarily to euthanasia, it also reflects their longstanding attitude towards the "dignity" of man.

Under the Old Law, even to "hate" your brother without cause was punishable by the local Sanhedrin of 23 magistrates. To call one Raca, (vain fellow, worthless, shallow brained, etc) was in danger of facing the Grand Sanhedrin of 72 magistrates, 6 from each tribe. But to call one a "fool" when enraged, (and as the other two, "without cause") meant that you were subject to be burned to death. This use of "fool" was used to accuse one of being an apostate, rebel against God, Godless, etc and a person guilty of such was himself subject to be burned to death. Jesus refers to the fire of the valley of Hinnon which was sometimes used as the means of punishment.

I got a new shadow. I had to get rid of the other one... It wasn't doing what I was doing.

Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.

He asked me if I knew what time it was. I said, "Yes, but not right now."

The Fox and the Monkey

A Fox and a Monkey were traveling together on the same road. As they journeyed, they passed through a cemetery full of monuments. "All these monuments which you see," said the Monkey, "are erected in honor of my ancestors, who were in their day freedmen and citizens of great renown." The Fox replied, "You have chosen a most appropriate subject for your falsehoods, as I am sure none of your ancestors will be able to contradict you."
