Nepal is one of the poorest nations in the world. The church barely has a start there and is clinging on for dear life. We desperately need to help these poor people. Not with sustenance so much as spiritual help. JH

BEAUTIFUL MEMORY VERSE
(1 Kings 8:30)

"And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest, forgive. " (KJV)

"And may You hear the supplication of Your servant and of Your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. Hear in heaven Your dwelling place; and when You hear, forgive." (NKJV)

HOW THINGS ARE PROGRESSING

I read a few articles recently which startled me, then they angered me, and finally saddened me. It makes one want to scream out, "LORD IN HEAVEN, HOW CAN WE STOP THIS HORRIBLE ABANDONMENT OF THY WORD?" Yet, I know what His answer is. Simply, do your Christian duty, follow the dictates of Jesus and do your best to spread the truth to the world and then, don't let it bother you.

We read or see on television almost daily where some official (in school, government, military or some other organization) has refused to allow some Christian to mention his/her belief in some way or another publicly. Mention Allah, Muhammad, Buddha, or anything other than that pertaining to Christ or Christian. Yet our constitution guarantees us freedom OF religion, not freedom from hearing religion mentioned.

Then we have the turmoil going on in the various denominations. Divisions over homosexuality and various other things which are explicitly condemned in the word of God. And the same things are happening within the Lord's church. Liberalism, humanism, lack of strict constructionism, private interpretism, and more.

But now, we have the new "The New Testament and Psalms: A New Inclusive Translation" published by the Oxford University Press which alters the wording of the Holy Scriptures to eliminate any statements or inferences that the Jews were responsible for the death of Jesus. It also changes the terms referring to any gender, making it gender neutral. How dare any man willfully alter the words of Jesus Christ delivered by the Holy Spirit? Read these articles.

ARE YOU AN EVANGELIST?
Excerpt from an article by Jared Jackson

October 1, 2001
by Jared Jackson

You may not be able to fulfill the role of a preacher, or teacher, or elder, or deacon. But in the general sense, you can be an evangelist. Here’s how.

The Great Commission

A former tax-collector, a political activist, and a few fisherman—eleven common Hebrew men. Having no organization and no resources but their faith in the promises of Jesus Christ, these first-century citizens of Palestine were charged by our Lord to do the impossible—go evangelize the world. What an awesome task—what an awesome responsibility!

But each one of the eleven, with the later addition of two more, served their Master nobly, fulfilling his command and dedicating their lives, and the lives of their families, to bringing the gospel of Christ to the nations.

And the charge now comes down through the centuries to us. We must evangelize the world. We must not allow our friends and loved ones, nor strangers afar, to pass from this world without hearing the good news—that Jesus will save them from their sins.

So, are you an evangelist? ( To access this entire article Click Here )

Our Lord’s Warning
By Ron Boatwright

Christ, who is all knowing, tells us that many people are going to be lost in eternity. In Matthew 7:13-14 He says, "Enter by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it". According to the Bible the majority of people will be lost. We must take this warning seriously. The Lord says that only a few people will be saved.

How few can few be? In 1 Peter 3:20 (KJV) we read, "When once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was preparing, wherein few, that is eight souls were saved by water." The conservative estimate of the number of people on the face of the earth in the days of Noah is two hundred million (200,000,000) people. But only eight (8) out of the estimated two hundred million (200,000,000) were saved. This is not very good odds. Even though the Bible says in 1 Peter 3:9 that the Lord is "not willing that any should perish", Jesus says in Matthew 7:13-14 concerning eternal life in Heaven that "there are few who find it". The vast majority of people will spend forever and ever in the eternal fires of Hell that will never be extinguished. Mankind cannot comprehend how horrible that Hell is going to be.

There are only two roads to eternity and everyone is on one or the other. If we miss Heaven, we will be thrown into the eternal fires of Hell forever. One of the saddest things about being thrown into Hell is the fact that it could have been avoided. The majority of people will be lost in spite of what the Lord has done. Hell is not what God does to us, but Hell is what one does to himself. A person who ends up in Hell is his own worst enemy and only has himself to blame. Let us make going to Heaven our number one priority in this life.

Bible Words Correctly Pronounced For You

MUSINGS OF JOEL
Nepal

Nepal is a small nation slightly larger in area than Arkansas and is sandwiched in between China and India with an estimated population of 28,287,147 in July 2006.

It is the only nation in the world which has the official national religion of Hinduism. The government has been very unstable for years and is now under a King/Parliment form of government, the King being head of state and the Prime Minister as head of the government.

I have had a limited correspondence with a young brother in Christ in Nepal. I asked him some pertinent questions and they follow with his replies. I pray that someone, somewhere, will contact this man and do something to help. I can't at this moment and I fear that waiting will be too late.

Were you baptized (immersed) or some other method (sprinkling, pouring, etc)? I have water baptized which saved me 1 Pet.3;20-21, Co l2:12; Rom 6:4-10,Gal 3:26-27

Do you believe you were saved before baptism? No

Do you have mechanical instruments of music in your worship? No Eph 5:19, Co l3:16-17 etc

Do you partake of the Lord's Supper each Sunday (the Lord's day)? Yes Acts 20:7, 2:42, 1 Cor 16:1-2

Anyone may contact him, Krishna Prasad Oli, at chabahillchurchofchrist@hotmail.com or mail addrss to: Krishna Prasad Oli, Chabahill church of Christ, Box 832, Kathmandu, Nepal

The Stag, the Wolf, and the Sheep

A Stag asked a Sheep to lend him a measure of wheat, and said that the Wolf would be his surety. The Sheep, fearing some fraud was intended, excused herself, saying, "The Wolf is accustomed to seize what he wants and to run off; and you, too, can quickly outstrip me in your rapid flight. How then shall I be able to find you, when the day of payment comes?'
